so your supposed to change the pads 6 months after the wear indicator starts to dig into disc?

it could just be a build-up of excess brake dust causing the brakes to screech.

when the wear indicator starts to dig into the rotor, it sounds more like metal grinding on metal, especially as it digs deeper into the rotor.
