What made you chose the 24-70L over the 24-105L?

I'd consider the 17-55 if you are on a crop body. The wide end is nice (and so is the IS!).

Would you recommend the 17-55 over the 24-105? I'm going for the 50D (cropped) but you already knew that. I'd eventually like to get a FF but am torn between the 5D mkII and D700.

I would. Buy for what you have now, not what you "might" buy. For my use 24mm just isn't wide enough on a crop.
