Don't u think u need 2 know if its a stick or auto 1st?

Its essentially the same thing AT or MT. There is a sensor on the trans that sends signal to the speedo. My car was prev AT and I converted to MT. I had to wire up the speedo to work with the MT.

Codes are p0500 and p1167

ok, like i responded to your other post. p0500 is vss fault. makes perfect sense now. IF you hit something and it broke the connection to the vss, it will set the p0500 and the speedo wont work. Do like i suggested before and look for damage around the vss connector. If all the wires look in tact & the plug is plugged in, you could swap the vss if you don't feel capable of chking the wiring. Its most likely the first thing a shop will try to do anyways.

Yeah, you're right. Checked the connections yesterday and everything looked fine. Where do you suggest I buy a new VSS?

Honda is best, but you could chk napa or rockauto websites. I usually use an honda online parts department, like hondapartscheap.com since the pricing is cheaper online & when you purchase from an out of state dealer, you don't pay tax. Just google and see which sites are out there and comparison shop.

I ordered both my VSS and my o2 sensor from Amazon. Seems to be the cheapest place to buy from what I could find. Sucks how the o2 sensor for ULEV engines are cost more than twice as much as non ULEV

you might want to check the fuse on the passenger side-right side of glove box. If that is good, i would just replace the vehicle speed sensor (about $60)
pretty easy to install.
