Bad acceleration? Doesn't seem possible. The high end is the area where our motors are lacking.

What car are you comparing the speed to, if any?

Actually our cars aren't bad up top. Well, at lat the manual trannys aren't
Start with SI and header to improve teh torque.
But first, improve on the maintaince.
change plugs/wires
clean fuel injectors

my accord is 5 speed manual transmission
i just clean my fuel injector , change spark plugs using ND zfr-5f [ standart ] , change spark plug wires using honda original , change fuel filter using honda original too , cleaning IACV , everything else , is stock from honda , with no adjustment , standart exhaust system
umm, i feel weird about this F23A1 enging , from rpm 1k to 2k takes double time of rpm 2k to 3k , i mean , from 1k rpm to 2k rpm is so slowwwwwwwww , but after 2k rpm , the engine feel sooo responsive , this really botther me on heavy traffic / driving on mountain...
how to solve this , using the stock configuration ...

oh yes , i compared this car to say.... mitsubishi lancer EVO IV , this F23 Engine seem lack of low rpm power , especially from 1K to 2K Rpm , i mean , low torque power at low speed, low acceleration at low speed , especially from 1k to 2k rpm , any gear shift...

ps : sorry for my bad english >.<

well, it is made as an economy commuter car, its not going to have tons of power where you would want it, cuz its supossed to save you on gas instead of give you performance. also, the car comes stock with 150hp and 152tq for non-ULEV VTEC engines (F23A1), and the ULEV VTEC engines (F23A4) have 148hp and 150tq...and thats to the crank. also, i think i read somewhere once that theirs a 15% drivetrain loss of power for manuals and 20% for automatics. not sure if thats true, but you deffinately dont get those figures to the wheels. when youre going up a hill, just downshift and youll be fine.
