five day wait? :lawl:

ok..

I think you need to roll out the pieces even more with a heat gun or something, they're still wavy in sections dude.

I think I'll try it 2 more times. Each time I use the heatgun, it is able to pull out more and more, so eventually the skirts could be at 70 or 80 degrees perpendicular to the ground.

I have no idea as to what to do about the waviness. It's a little less than it was after the first time. Any ideas?

Bacon sideskirts. Reason I don't post idea's until I am confident.

Look up white LED thread, look up modding OEM replica kit. I know I sound like a dick but I am not trying to half *** mods for the sake of modding. I don't even take pride in my work...I just do the work.

keep the hate to yourself, bro.

There must be a better way to do it without resulting in wavy skirts. I'm just the first one to actually try it.

So unless you can suggest a better process then..... :flipoff:

Um, I already did:

I would not try to do this by hand. I have never tried to shape urethane with heat but I have done other materials. It will be very hard to get this consistent.

At the least, you should make a large clamp. You could use a 2x4 with a notch cut where the end caps on the side skirt are with a bolt to a 2x8 or piece of 1/2 in plywood. I would go further and make a jig using the same idea and adding a second, adjustable clamp. This obviously means you need to take more time. It would make it expensive if you don't have the tools and materials on hand but at least you can get it consistently bent, and replicate the same bend on the other side. By hand, you could could easily have a lumpy mess.

Just a suggestion, it sounds complicated but would be pretty simple to make with basic power tools and would likely yield far better results.

yup looks like crap

unlike metal, you really can't deform plastic and hope for any kinda decent looking results

its just not made to do that.

Bumping a thread that's been dead for a week just to say it "looks like crap"? :tgf:
I think the OP has gotten enough hate, he tried something new, it didn't work out (imo), but thats how modding works sometimes. At least he tried
