I have figured out the biggest possible box design if you plan on building your box outside the car and dropping it in. building a box inside the trunk is a whole different story but i wont go into that. the sedan is obviously a little bigger and can take a bigger box because of the wider trunk. the coupes tail lights swoop in and take off an extra 3 inches of width.

the two sizes:

sedan max external dimensions:
35 wide, 17.5 deep, 18 tall
-the box will not clear the 6x9's or black box
-coupe box (32x17x17) will clear 6x9's and black box, but if no spare tire is in there will fall thru the floor if it slides back. i recommend brackets to hold it in place if going with the smaller box.

the trunk has more room than the picture shows

coupe max dimensions:
32 wide, 17 deep, 17 tall
-was a mofo to fit, i would go 16.5 deep next time
-cleared 6x9's but not black box. im sure if it was 16.5 tall it would fit under black box freeing up more trunk space.

YES, 15's will fit in both the sedan and coupe :)

The enclosure size he mentions are not for any particular size subs. If you look at the point of the thread, it's the largest box that can be built then put into the trunk. For the sedan, the largest box per his findings is 37.5 x 18 x 17.5, which is 5.1 cu. ft. This means you just need to know if your subs will work in that size OR SMALLER of course.

^ also take into consideration the displacement of the woofer and possible second baffle (double thick [1.5inch])

my rockford took up a massive .5 cubes of displacement. i think two 15's would be too much given the space. you dont wanna choke the woofers with too little air, it will throw off how they should sound. but then again, some woofers need little air and it could be do-able.

try to stick to what size the manufacturer recommends and you should be solid :)
