hey guys, I'm beginning to search for some wheels and tires for summer. Living in upstate NY its almost a must to have snow tires so my goal is to keep the snow tires on my stock rims and buy a new pair of wheels for my summer tires. That way there's no swapping tires, just putting a whole new set on. My question is to all of you, where abouts have you had good luck as far as price and quality for both wheels and tires? If there's any places to stay away from and why?

I have a 99 accord with about 130k on it. Its in pretty good shape and I'm a college student so not really looking to spend a boat load of money. Just want something that'll make the car look better come the better weather.
Thanks

Tirerack.com is decent for tires. I've found that alot of local shops will compete, price-wise. It also helps if you have a buddy who works in said shops or dealerships. I work in a dealership and I get a SWEET deal on tires.

As for wheels...they're everywhere. You just gotta find the wheel you like and look for it.

yeah thats what I've noticed. Just kind of curious if there's anything or place I should try to avoid and where people have gotten good setups

Well, obviously, most of the time, you get what you pay for. For summer, you could probably get away cheaping out on tires, but not in the winter. As for wheels, same goes, dont cheap out. I love OEM wheels. You know they'll fit, they can be had easily and they come in a variety of sizes.

I have a set of like new Toyo T1R summer tires for sale if interested. They are 17's.

As for wheels, keep your eyes on V6P.net, Acurazine, Craigslist, Ebay, etc. You can find nice sets of wheels for far less than buying them brand new on a wheel/tire site.

You should also consider the likelihood of changing out the suspension. This is definitely a game changing aspect. OEM wheels are a nice selection but you'll be disappointed with the "hellasunk" effect that you'll have once you lower the car 1.5+".

But just like RedRyder said just browse other forums classifieds but venture into acurazine (assuming that you have a 5 lug) and hondatech because their vendors are always proactive with groupbuys.

^Sounds like he is 4cyl since he is going from 15's. Guess Acurazine would be pointless lol. Though there are some guys on there with Integra's, etc.

haha thats why i put acurazine with a parantheses. But with most groupbuys, vendors will accommodate their customers regardless of lugnut pattern, offset, and etc.

yeah I'm only a little 4cyl lol. 5 speed gets the job done tho. But as far as tweaking my suspension setup... your saying it'll basically be a s***y ride if I were to go bigger on tires and keeping the stock suspension setup?
