wow, i love honda forums.
i will also have to agree with nikita, i see no resemblance to the topic to honda forums..
please don't stereotype us with others if they have not given you the best response.
I think he's just stereotyping the typical response you get on these forums when throwing out an idea that has a lot of utility to a select group. I mean, look at the immediate responses... 1. Dissing the iPhone - 2. TELLING us mobile users that we should just be satisfied with the mobile browser experience.
For those with doubts about setting something like this up, download the engadget app for the iPhone, if you have access to an iPhone/Touch, and compare it to loading the the actual engadget site. The app uses all the local system resources to display the same information, but instead of having to render all the html, it just downloads xml data. This is how mobile apps work and the same reason why everyone is making an app now. Why do you think facebook has an app? Because loading it in a mobile browser sucks balls. Whoever says they're having a positive experience with 6thgenaccord.com on their mobile phone is either lying or has low standards and a lot of patience. The site is built for browsers running on real computers with large screens. Using it on a phone is tedious, slow, and harsh on battery life.
Consider what finch13 has said. Many people are starting to use their phones as their primary internet portal, and just because something can pass as usable doesn't mean the user should have to put up with it. A car sure works fine without a muffler, but you don't see me driving without one...
