I've have recently noticed that the temperature gauge bounces up and down. It's not a constant bounce but when I start the car, it goes up slowly then it drops. Then it goes up again, then drops. When the car is fully warmed up it doesn't do it anymore. It doesn't overheat but bounces from normal temp to cold. Plz help :usa:

When it falls down does it fall down to below cold(as if car is turned off) or does it only fall minimally??

Is your gasoline cap fully sealed? If your air intake is stock, is the air box completely mounted?←(I.e. after inspecting the filter inside.)

For the sake of it, bleed the cooling system and see if the issue occurs.

That said, my coolant gauge needle does somewhat the same thing where it'll fall down as if the car got turned off then either jump back up on its own or need me to tap it once or twice. When i have checked the coolant temp from the ECU parameters though it stays constant with no drops at all which leads me to believe the gauges connection is not as rigid or the needle itself has gotten faulty. It usually does do this when I hit bad bumps on the road which cause the car to shake. I've also read several instances where people noticed their coolant needle had deformed a tad due to running hot-ter bulbs on the gauge assembly (even though i believe LEDs are supposed to run cooler).

The end point being...bleed the cooling system properly, check the coolant needle connection on the engine and the plug on the back of the gauge unit, and monitor it for a little bit. If you are extremely worried buy/install an aftermarket coolant temp gauge/pod.
