Always thought it wouldn't be possible. Even with the consideration that these engine are supposed to be low emission.

The reason I pass is: I have anti-foulers on the test pipe o2 = no code = pass emissions.

Don't know how you couldn't be smelling your exhaust gases without a convertor to clean it up. But that's just what I've read consistently. Hasn't happened to me personally, I'm running one.

There is obviously an increase in fumes. But if you can't stand the smell of your own exhaust there must be something wrong with you or your car. Some people like diesel fumes, I can't stand them. So I don't own or like to work on diesels. Some people like jet fuel fumes, I used to work on F15s and I can stand the smell. My point is, if its expected its tolerable. Personal preference for smells i guess.

I'm with you, CB, thought about running the test pipe. I think Simon(simon_y) is running one as well, but he takes it off for emissions.
