So, my nieghbor is getting rid of his bimmer. I've wanted a project car for awhile since i got my accord. I really am not looking for much power, i want to get into autocrossing.
Anyway, the two platforms i have wanted to start with: Datsun 510, e30 bmw, or a galant vr4. The last is too expensive after modding
. That will kill me.
Anyway, so my neighbors mom came by yesterday and asked me if i knew anyone who wanted to buy his 325is. I don't know the miles, the paint is good, the interior is clean (or seems to be through the windows), etc. $500. To me it's a perfect platform since i know it runs well, he is a good mechanic, etc.
My problem, i would almost defineatly need to get rid of my 71 jaguar xj6. That is my baby, i think it's one of the sexiest jags ever made. And jaguar makes some sexy cars. For a 71, it has alot of nice things, power brakes, handles better than my honda, power windows, great ride, etc. I used to drive it everyday. Now that i have been away, it runs like ****. Plus, to restore it, it's going to be about 6-8 grand for a basic, drivable state that will look good. This of course would be me doing everything myself.
I'm really stressing over this. I love my jag, i just don't feel i have the time. It was bought new from my grandpa so it has alot of sentimeltal value as well. I just don't know if i can ever complete it myself. Now after i get a good job, i wouldn't mind dropping some $$$$$$$ on it but thats so far in the future, i don't know when i can actually be able to afford to do so.
