Those of you running TL Wheels

I'm not too familiar with tire sizes and all that so bear with me, but whats the difference between running a 235/45 or a 225 or 215?

Like grip and wear and stuff like that.

225 is how wide the tires are
45 is how high it is
17 is the rim size

And yes I am aware but I was more interested in what people were wrapping their TL rims in.

Tire wear is determined by a rating, which is given to all tires. Higher the number, better it wears. Of course this also depends on driving style and suspension setup, so I don't put much stock in it.

Grip varies by tire, summer tires have the most grip but they are useless in the winter and really cold weather. All seasons are just that. But within these classifications there is a wide variety of tires with different tread patterns, construction, etc so you really just have to read up on it and just pick a set to try out.

The difference between running a 235 and 225 is not noticeable in the performance realm, all it means when it comes to these cars is depending on how low you are, a 235 could rub unless you roll/pull fenders. TL wheels are 8" wide, which is perfect for a 225, or 215 if you want a little tire stretch.

i got 215/45/17's kumho ecsta's from tire rack for 350 shipped, i was gonna put em on some TL for a little stretch but i sold them

+1 for 225's. I am running Yokohamas right now. I've also owned a couple sets of Toyos, and I liked em.
