Personally, I think Honda should make a larger sedan to better compete with the Maxima and Avalon. The accord is a great car, but to be real, the accord has its hands full with the Altima, Camry and Sonata. Not to mention its German competitors.
The TL is nice, but it's main rivalries are other entry level luxury cars (IS350, & ES 330, Infiniti, I35, Bimmer 3 series, Mercedes C Class)

does this mean youre thinking of getting something else eric? either way, i do agree totally with that, that the accord isnt one of the "better" midsized sedans out there. but the 7th gen v6 does have some balls, honda still needs to pick it up with performance. other comapnies offer great gas mileage, but with loads more performance.

I agree too, lets just stop the excuse of gas mileage and the gasoline being espensive. American trucks, Cadys, and other 8 cyl car still on production and people buy them every day. Lets just leave to the costumer decide, if you like to save gas, well get a hybri, if you like power and performance you should be awere of the gas espenses. Myself in particular, is getting a 6cyl car next time, or 4cyl cuz I love the TSX but manual, just for that, if not I'll prob.. get a 6 speed manual Accord sedan, maybe 8th gen coupe, let see....

yeah. v6 to me isn't very much powerful but it's enough power to get pass some people when your on the on-ramp and about to go back into the highway.

I don't think gas and power are the problem because VTEC adds power when needed and will still provie excellent fuel economy.

I mean, look at the options the maxima and avalon offer.
Both larger than the accord
Xenon HIDs
incredible power and torque
fingerprint keyless entry.

I mean, maybe they need to stretch the Accord like they did with the Tahoe into the surburban or the Envoy into the Envoy XL

I'm even ashamed to admit that the Camry SE with the groound kit looks good as hell

this has always been the complaint, hondas are underpowered theyre not luxurious blah blah blah. ITS ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THIS lok at the 6th gen av6 only 200 hp for a v6 while nissan had engines with like 240.same thing with our 6th gens. honda cars are always underpowered. but they still blow every other competitor out of the water. why? because power and size arent everything. Honda makes great OVERALL cars, fun to drive, quality parts, fuel economy, handling etc.Sure camrys have 268 hp but theyre boring to drive and would you honestly pick a hyundai over a honda? Hondas sales arent hurting, so theyre gonna keep on doing what theyre doing.

theyre motto is clean, safe, and fun.

not gas guzzling, huge, and powerful...leave that to domestics. :furious:

Also honda is an ENTRY level brand, not a luxury brand, Acura is the one you should have your beef with.

now I DO have a complaint with Acura though. theyre now chasing bmw and lexus type brands, but doing it with v6 fwd cars, thats simply not gonna cut it, they discontinued the rsx so they can seperate themselves from honda and become the the premium brand. But theyre top model the RL only has a V6. if theyre trying to become a premium luxury brand, then yes they need to get bigger and more powerful.

But imo Honda is doing just fine, plus the new accord is gonna have like 270-280 hp, which will better compete with nissan and toyota.
