Honda makes good overall cars...YES.
But, other car manufactures are coming up and doing the same.
I wouldn't pic a hyundai over a Honda, but be honest, the Sonata has come a long way and I think it looks pretty good.

I agree with one thing you said, honda is an entry brand. But what about Nissan and Toyota. They are entry brands also. But look at the performace numbers of the Maxima and Avalon. I'm not saying discontinue the Accord, but come up with a vehicle to compete with the Maxima, Avalon, and Passat.
Ever since the fourth gen Maxima, the accord has stopped competing with it and started going after the Altima. Before then, it was competing with the Maxima and stanza.

As far as honda being underowered, In a way I agree. That has always been the downfall of honda cars, but VTEC makes up for that. But blowing competitors out the water, it's hard to agree with.
Power and performance isn't everything, I agree, but be real. That's what most car shoppers look for.

I won't even start with Acura. Ever since they discontinued the CL I was like WTF are they doing. As of now, they have no car to compete with the 3 series coupe which is a VERY popular seller.
The TL can hold it's own with certain competitors, but I believe they can do better.
Even with the NXS.
Personally I think the NSX is an incredible car. But for the asking price, you can get a 350Z, or G35 Cpe, for half the price

as much as you'd like one, big powerful cars do NOT sell in numbers like accord/camry/civic

i don't mind that honda only has two "cars". with the accord getting a bit more power
for the 8th gen i think it will compete.

but acura really does need to step it up. v8's, turbo's, "sprot models" ect, ect.
everyone else is doing it.

i'd like to see them take the tsx platform and up to to compete with the m3 or the
upcoming lexus is-f. can they fit a v8 in there? haha, probably not, but the tl and rl
should offer a v8 and the tsx should have a ~300hp turbo'd model.

From what I understand in '08 or '09 the TSX coupe will be unveiled and it is also my understanding that in the same year the TSX-S will be made available. So I think that Honda's thinking is that The RL (Legend) will compete with the 7 Series and the Lexus LS, The TL with the 5 Series and Lexus GS and the TSX with the 3 series and Lexus IS.

But I do agree that they need to do something about the power. I mean Honda just did their first turbo charged engine with the RDX and I can't imagine them stopping there. I think that this is just the beginning.

But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

TL's are SICK

I have a 99 Maxima and a 98 accord

Maxima pro's:
v6
luxurious interior
better stock body style(kind of)
nicer wheels
bigger
Maxima Cons:
Bit higher price new
not as reliable
check engine lights(Nissan in general)

Accord Pros:
Good proce
EASY to work on
more reliable
WAYYY easier to turbo, spray ect....

Accord Cons:
A bit dated on the interior, maybe not dated but not very nice(not like a max's)
underpowered stock(maximas get up and go stock for what they are, and very smooth

the RL competes with the 530i, gs330, and e320
TL competes with 335, C320, CTS, etc
and on a lesser level, maxima and passat
TL and TSX share the same category, with the TSX going against the 325 and c230 and IS250

acura doesnt have anything on the same level as 7 series, S class or LS450s

^^^Exactly^^^

Acura doesn't have anything to compete with the S class and BMW's 7 series or the Lexus LS series.
I think Acura is trying out this turbo thing and later down the line it will boost other vehicles. But right now, the only coupes acura produce are too cheap (RSX) or too expensive (NSX). They should have kept the CL.

Honda doesn't have to produce a big and powerful car, but something in the same class as the Maxima.
