Hi, I'm planning to paint my valve cover and I'm aware that I need to change my gasket when I do this. I'm also geting my timing belt replace soon. So my question is, does replacing timing belt involve removing valve cover? If it does, should I paint my cover the day before and reuse old gasket till I do timing belt. Replaced once rather than twice? Or its a horrible idea to reuse gasket even for one day? Thanks

you dont have to take the VC off to do a timing belt. but the gasket should be fine as long as it looks in good shape. ive taken my valve cover off multiple times without replacing the gasket. havent had a single issue.

I just remembered that you do have to take th valve cover off. So that you can take off the upper timing belt cover. When I said no before I was thinking about my car and not a stock one since my cover has been removed.
