Ok fellas, Im up to 125K, bought it at 59k, and thought the guy before me had changed the timing belt, well, I really doubt it cause I have no record of it, but anyway, where is the best/cheapest place to get it replaced. I have checked several honda dealers. One is quoting 653+tax, the other $750. I checked a few import shops, and they are all around 650, except for one that said it would be cheaper if I didnt replace the tensioner. Any help would be great! Thanks!

if there's no record, pull off the timing belt cover and look at the belt... if it looks new, u'll be fine.. also, $650 is the going price at dealers... local shops should be around $400

The dealer here quoted me $800.
yeah you should have local shop change all the belts but make sure they use Genuine Honda belts cause the are the best. There will be timing belt, small balacing belt next to it, while you at it have the powersteering and alternator belt change as well. All this should cost you no more than $450 with parts and labor included just dont go to the dealer. If you live in Southern California i know a shop that can do it for you for that price. I just had mine done couple months ago and I also had my friend civic done there.
I doubt the guy had it changed at 59K, most people just drive the car and change oil around that mileage. They probably still have original brakes let along changing the belts, that would be wishful thinking.

damn, i got a deal on my timing belt/water pump change... i paid $50 for the 2 belts+water pump and i paid my mechanic $90... he only charged me $60 but i felt a tip was in order... it seems like he did a pretty good job too.

I did mine, and my girlfriends. Wasn't too bad. I got the kits from tas, took me about four hours on mine, then about 3 on hers. If you've got an impact wrench, manual, and some general tools then go for it!! It'll save you a bunch!!!

Whip out the Yellow Pages (Not online, the actual paper Yellow Pages) and find a Honda Certified shop. I found one in my town (podunk Jackson Mississippi.)
A Honda Certified shop will use genuine Honda Parts. You may want to ask them to be sure though. They will probably charge around $400 - $500 for the t-belt job including water pump, belt, drive belts, and seals. The tentioners rarely ever fail, the techs should just spin them and make sure they don't bind or anything. Or if you are going to worry about the tensioners, just go ahead and have them do it. But ut will cost more.
Some stealerships can charge up to $1300 for a t-belt Job. There is a Master Tech over on Hondaaccordforum.com and he works at a dealer. He said they charge $1300.
