^I don't think so man, check the miata tire calculator. His stock tire size was 205/60/16, and a 2515/50/17 will keep his odo/speedo most accurate. 45's will throw off the speedo around 2.5 mph, and 50's will be around 1/2 mph.

If he is lowered a decent amount I'd say 45's, but if not I'd say 50's or his wheels will look too small in the wells. I had 215/50's on my CL-S wheels (17x7) and the sidewall didn't look huge, but then again they were T1R's. lol

I think the reason why you guys are coming up with different numbers is due to the fact that Chris is considering that coupe and sedan stock sizes are different.

^ word. with the miata calc i compared to a 195/65/15, which is the stock size on the i4's.

either way, i still say 215/45 over a 215/50, regardless of your stock size. its not that much of a difference with either size, but looks wise, a 215/45 will look better and not raise your car.

actually, i lied, i used this calculator...

http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

and according to it, a 215/45 would fit best with the oem size being 205/60. fits even better than with the oem size being 195/65.

It doesn't actually, has more variance then the 215/50 does.

so youre saying with a stock 205/60 tire with a diameter of 24.68, that getting a 215/50 with a diameter of 25.46 would be better than getting a 215/45 with a diameter of 24.61.

so yeah, lets get a bigger tire and increase the amount your speedo and mileage could be off by, that sounds like its right :dunce:

Your numbers are not exactly right...

Stock tire size is 16" not 15"(which its what you're considering i think) for a Coupe EX v6
16" tire diameter is 25.7"
17" is 25.5" (215/50/17)
17" you're recommending is 24.6"

even if looking at a coupe lx v6 with a 15" stock tire size
stock tire is 15" with a diameter of 25.5"
17s is 25.5" (215/50/17)
17" you're recommending is 24.6"
...so yeah i'd say lets look at the info and data once again :dunce:

yes, a 215/50 would fit better with the oem being 205/60/16, haha.
