Seriously. I mean yes I’m sure our productivity is one way or another correlated to our rise as the most powerful nation on earth, but at what price? I could be #2 or #3 and be content, and besides I think America was better off when it was striving to become a superpower. But I digress. Europeans work two 5 or 6 hour shifts a day, with a break in between. A lot of companies don’t require you to work more than 4 days. At least this was my experience in Italy.
And I’ve always been a firm believer of quality vs. quantity. If I worked 4 days a week instead of 5, maybe 7 hours instead of 8…guaranteed I would not get burned out as fast every week and I’d be happier in general in life. I walk into my building in the summer every morning...and can't help but think I could be enjoying more of a beautiful day.
Lol something like that. Those people there are so happy, and the mood in general was just lighter everywhere I went. And during those 3 hours, shops and stuff close, so you spend time with your family, friends, whatever.
Don't even get me started on all these topics, I can't emphasize how much I agree. So much has been lost, but I say lost, what I really must say is - eradicated, or "dedoctrinated".
