Thanks for the welcome. Didn't mean to mislead with my title haha. I've been reading lots of posts here and I feel like my brain's being put in a blender and then stomped on. I'm just kind of looking for a daily drive cool factor, along with some extra power. Here's what I've found so it seems

-Bolt ons are pretty useless for these cars in terms of power (yes?)
-swapping the transmission gives the quickest gain (h23 transmission? I'm probably wrong)
-If I want another exhaust I'll pay for the swap thru low end power
-I'm seeing alot of stuff about bisimoto stage 2 cam. gives good power boosts, but needs to be tuned with a modded ecu or back to OBD1, which I'm in arkansas and emissions aren't checked here :jae: I would need to look more into this though because this is WAAAY over my head
-I've got an f23a1 with 150k miles on it, and boosting it is a liiiittle pricey for a poor college kid

I've read alot more but my brain is too mushy to list any more. Which of these do you guys think is a good, cheap solution for a daily driver lookin for a little boost? I enjoy the idea of bolt ons just for learning more about my car, but I don't want to waste a bunch of money on useless junk. Thanks so much for any input guys.

PS - sorry if you've heard this question before, but I've read mostly threads about people wanting the most power no matter what the cost (which I totally understand)

I don't know how others feel, but I honestly appreciate your honesty and the fact that you understand your a noob without overplaying your limited knowledge.

My first suggestion is going to be: invest in a good suspension. Somewhere around $500 or more, I've currently invested about $1,300 into mine and it's not even that impressive.

It's hard to make a noticeable amount of power with the F23, but investing in a responsive suspension will definitely bring out the best of the car without skipping meals to pay for fun. I don't know if the other members are with me on this, but there is just something about being able to take a cloverleaf at 50 miles an hour without a squeal of a tire and knowing you could push it a little harder next time.

I boosted my accord when i was 17..so anything is possible. but everything adds up to power;

Intake
Headers
cat-back exhaust
underdrive pullys--ill sell you my underdrive Powersteering and alt and crank for $100.new -in box's ;)
sparkplugs,bigger wires ect.
and alot of people use an apexi safc to get the most power out of that, since converting to obd1 for bolt ons is kinda pointless**IF you still NEED emission testing that is**

or the cheapest way to get instant power is slap on a 50 or 75 shot of nitrous..about $400.

alright so i'm gonna continue with the bolt-ons haha. I think they're fun anyways

that apexi safc.. does it actually do any tuning or is it used to monitor exclusively. Or does it help OBD2 tune better? I saw that it monitors intake stuff but couldn't figure out much more there.

As for suspension, how much should I be looking to spend. I see that there are coilovers and other things that go with that. I'm seeing stuff about Tein lowering springs as well
