tranny gear play

So i jst helped a buddy wit his 6th gen changed da bushing in his shifter becuase couldnt find any gears even with a damn map so we got it assembled and it shifts fine but now when in gear his shifter has alota play in the gears any ideas what i did wrong?

How much play are you talking, and which direction? It's normal to have side to side play, if it's frontward/backward play then that might be something to look into.

I wanna say it enough play to not be comfortable with it jiggles like if in neutral front and bak side to side

But it drives fine gears dont grind and dont slip not even wen beatn on it
