new to me...it was made in the late 1960s :lawl: first SLR with integrated metering through the lens...

fixing old cameras is kind of a hobby. i dont get involved with the shutters or anything that complicated...

the ae-1 program was made from 81-87 (canon intro'd the EOS mount in 89 i think).

SLR = single lens reflex, meaning that the lens you look through also takes the picture. the D in DSLR is "digital."

O man, I bet the digital ability makes using the camera a lot easier right? I'm guessing on dslr's u can view the picture after u take it right? And on non digital 35mm u can't view the pic after u take it from the camera right? I hate how 35mm cameras like the canon I have, u aren't able to view the pic after u take it from the camera.. Does what I said make sense? Or am I misunderstanding?

Re: Yep. (56k no way.)

its called "chimping"...cause people who use digital cameras feel the need to look at every single pic right after they take it :lawl:

raise camera to eye
lower it...look at screen
repeat

:lawl:

its easier because you can get the exposure close. but...the meters in film cams are more accurate and film allows more exposure error.

there are a bunch of tradeoffs for each but both are good...
