Goal: Subtle but impressive. Make it appear mostly stock and still be comfortable for daily driving. Go to bottom to find progress

Vehicle: 2002 Honda Accord 4cyl coupe

Enclosure plan: Dimensions and tuned frequency have yet to be established.

Option A: 6x9's will be removed so volcano ports can go up to, and partially through each.
Pros: Nice integration. Cool design
Cons: Might not be enough port volume. No rear speakers

Option B: Cut a whole in between the 6x9's for the port. Seal 6x9's from underneath
Pros: Large port volume. Also, cool design. Rear speakers are usable.
Cons: Unrepairable whole in rear deck

Entire care will be Dynomatted

Electrical:
-[]Deep cycle AGM battery
-[]Ohio Generator 160amp alternator
-[]0 gauge to distribution block
-[]4 gauge to each amp (3)
-[]0 gauge distribution ground block
-[]4 gauge to ground block
-[]10 gauge to subs, 18 gauge to speakers

Audio:
-[•]Kenwood DDX419
-[](2) Digital Designs 3512, carbon fiber cap and cone
-[](2) Digital Designs CM1000 class A/B amp
-[] (4)or(2) Digital Designs CSX speakers
-[] Digital Designs C4c or C2c

End result:

2 12" subs pushing roughly 1000-1400 each at ~0.7-1.0 ohm. Component speakers pushing 60 watts each. Heavy hitter that appears harmless.

This thread will be updated and edited often, so stay tuned!

Progress:

7/27/13- Kenwood headunit is in and the subs have been ordered. The subs have a large carbon fiber weave for the cone and dust cap with a silver logo. They will look like this:

Thanks man!

DD told me I'm gonna have about a 2 week turnaround before I get the subs. Around that time I will start ordering the rest of the stuff.

Nice. I'm looking at either the DD 500 or a DC level 2 when I get around to re doing my audio

I'll at least get a nice equalizer, and probably a signal processor. But obviously that list above is not entirely complete yet because some things have still not been given much thought.

Need to do more researching on brands and models

in my car i deleted the rear stage because i have that massive 15 back there and it would distort my 6x9's because of the high spl. what i do it have my back seat folded down 90% of the time to let the woofer breathe lol. when the seat is up air gets thru the 6x9 openings. i put 100 watts rms on my front speakers each and it gets okay loud. custom door panels with multiple speakers will be needed if you want a lot of output.

you should be okay with a passive setup as long as you get good components with the crossovers already built in. anyways, im tuned in and cant wait to see the final results!!

Thanks man haha

I would be okay with just having fronts. However, if I leave the 6x9's I'll just seal them from the underside. Like I said though, if I even leave them!

On Friday I put in a system with two 3500's powered by 1 cm1000. And I was extremely impressed with that alone! So needless to say, this setup is going to be what I want.

Even if it is mostly for showing off :lawl:
