Background info: Trunk light came on randomly. I've never touched the trunk so I do not know what's going on.

My co worker and I tried to diagnosis it by opening the trunk and manually locking it. Turned on the car and my trunk light was still on even though it's supposed to be closed.

Bought a new trunk latch assembly because we thought it was a faulty sensor. Disconnected the negative battery cable and reinstalled a new latch today. Turned on the car and the light is still on.

Now I am confused and do not know what's going on. Is there more than one sensor? Do I have a short somewhere because sometimes it will go off and sometimes it will stay on.

Thanks for everyone's help in advance.

There's probably a sensor that you can see that tells it whether its open or not. Something with that maybe?

my point exactly.

OP try PMing 01stunna. i bet he would be able to pull up one of his diagrams and tell you if theres two sensors or not.

but does the light go away when you unplug the sensor on the latch? if so that all in itself should tell you if theres more than one..
