urgent block help!!!

i have a 3.0l block. i want to know if i can get it machined out to fit the 3.2 pistons???

can you machine the sleeves or must the sleeves be removed???

To get a 3.2, you need not only to bore the block, but also decrease your stroke. Do some more research on exact specs. Not sure if just boring by itself will be enough to get to 3.2. You'd honestly be better off just getting a 3.2 block, then spending the money to get it sleeved, instead of starting out with a smaller one.

The J30 is a solid motor but it's not aggressive, and it's not really worth building it to most people, they just swap J32 cams (you'll need to notch unless you're 01-02) and IM.

There's not really much point in upping the power until you have a transmission that can handle it.

Different crank/or rods will destroke it.

You really are better off getting a 3.2 block to begin with.

To decrease the stroke, you'll need to use shorter connecting rods or a different crackshaft with rod journals closer to the center. Or both.

the 3.0 and 3.2 has the same length rods but the pistons in the 3.2 is bigger.
my friend will end up using the 3.0 rods and crank. the only thing he wants to swap over to the 3.0 block is the heads and piston. he needs to decide by tomorrow morning because a shop has his block and they need to know if honing the block out will work.

he said using the 3.0 pistons wont clear the 3.2 heads.

he doesn't understand the stroke difference. like how is it gonna destroke it. he said everything measured out the same length.

hes using the stock 3.0 crank


the machine shop wants to confirm if its okay and safe to bore out the sleeve. they don't wanna end up destroying it the block

Isn't the bore the same? And you need a different crank to adjust the deck height for the larger pistons. If it's the compression heights that's bigger.
