I have had a vis carbon fiber hood for about 8 months now. It was off the car and then put back on this spring. Lately it rains a lot here and the car is always outside so it gets soaked. I notice when I open the hood tons of water comes out of the holes. Not sure if it is normal or not but was not sure if this could ruin it. If there is any solutions let me know.

When I wash mine... always. Just drive around, it'll all come out.

I don't pop my CF hood too often but I'm sure mine would do the same too.

Not to thread jack or anything, but what causes the clear coat on CF (or anything really) to fade? Is it possible if water sits on the hood for too long it can make the clear coat worse or fade quicker?

Heat (sunlight uv rays) makes it fade... if you leave water on your hood in the sun e.i after washing it could compromise the coat, but water alone wont really do anything unless it sits for a ridiculously long time.

water will just leave water spots and stuff. the fading (like mentioned above) is from UV.
