well i just ordered my first set of wheels yesterday in 17's and now i'm having trouble deciding on what size profile to get the tires in. i dont want them to be too skinny nor too beefy, so i was thinking maybe 215/45/17 or 215/50/17 would be a good size. i'm also dropped on sportlines so idk if those sizes will make a difference in wheel gap.

i guess what im asking is if anyone can post pics up if they have a profile if 40, 45, and 50?

its a 17x7. i meant to put 205 instead of 215, the higher the number the wider it is right?

yah...its the size in mm....

i think 215 would be ok, but you'd just have to calculate correct profile size tho....

for example....i have 18inch rims with 225/40 18 to make my speedo as accurate as possible...225/40 with 18" rims will give me overall est. 25" diameter which is close to stock wheel equipped by honda...

say you have 17" with 205 width tire..to make your wheel overall 25" diameter, youd need 50% of 205 width....so 205/50 17 tires with 17" rims....

if you're going with 215mm width, then, youd need 215/45 17 with 17" rims....

boths will give you overall estimated 25" diameter for your speedo accuracy.....

hope this helps :D

i just bumped up from 215 35 18 to 225 40 18. What a freaken difference! Not just in appearance but ride quality. I had to dremel a little tiny part on the inside bumper but other then that its good since my car is lowered. I would def reasearch it and choose the right ones before going all out. maybe 215/45 could be good for you?

225/40... i kno different tire sizes thicker or not go higher in the price... the more popular indemand sizes are usually cheaper so i would stick to 215/40 or 225/40 but 225/40 is the wya to go

rim size + tire size =/= closing wheel gap......

think about it...if you were to have bigger rims/tire to fill your wheel gap, your speedo would be way off......unless you dont mind not having accurate speedo....but your overall car will look like lifted up because of thicker tire that fills your wheel gap.....
