Also, all of the official public signs (i.e. name of the places for public roads & highways and train stations) are subtitled in English.

Here is a trick for a long flight: start packing your stuff at the time you go to bed. This way, you'll head out to the airport w/o any sleep. You'll be knocked out at the time of departure. If you wake up in the middle of the flight, hit a can of beer and/or a glass of wine and you'll be able to sleep again b/c of alcohol kicking in at the high altitude. By the time you wake up, it will be about 30 min before landing to Japan. This is my best way of dealing with 8 ~ 10 hrs of flight. :D
That's actually a really good idea. I'll have to remember that if I ever take a long flight.

That album is a classic, btw.

@CB, my wife lived there for a little while and someone who speaks engilish can do quite well there.

Wow that's cool. Okay good to know.

Apparently, as a 6'2" nubian man, I could make money like crazy, from a variety of endeavours.

I lol'd

I believe he said they only happen once in a long while, if not just once as long as you own the car. So he wont have to be tint-less for too long.

Gotcha thanks. I was too lazy to go back read that whole exchange.

No kidding, different languages on public signage. Thought we were the only ones that did that. :lawl:

Good ideas, but I bet our sleeping habits differ greatly. Might work for me though. Maybe I should just say screw it and sedate myself...

How often are inspections? I can't imagine ripping off tint and reapplying all the time haha. So glad I don't live in an area where I have to deal with that crap.
Yep, Mikey got it. Just a once off, I hope.

I'm fishbowling...
I dun wanna be fishbowlin ..

Will be getting 20-25% tint soon afterwards anyway :D

^ Ahaha. Japaaan! :D I will certainly show you some pics of the place, whenever I'll have an access to a PC later. Looking at some stuff they sell, I'm sure you'll be :drool:ing a lot, and I wish I could buy you some stuff. When you ever go take a vacation to Japan, you gotta go visit these places!
I'm  right now from what you're tellin us Richard ! Enjoy the trip with your wife!

Take lots of pictures .. Or better, just video record the entire time you spend at the store. I'm sure others would watch it too.. Just to drool and dream more of all the aftermarket stuff they have on the shelves of a Walmart sized place :lawl:

Dug it out of ice and snow in the middle of the highway up in the mountains.

All of the other FWD sedans on the road gave up (or crashed) and sat on the side waiting for a tow, but me and my baby powered on. I was among the ranks of 4wd subarus, jeeps, and trucks.

Everytime the traffic stopped it was conveniently on an icey uphill, and I'd lose all of my rolling traction and get stuck. I must've dug like 6 trenches to get out.

I drove through a blizzard in the heart of the Rockies, it just got progressively worse until suddenly it was clear. In one section it took 2 hours to go 15 miles.

I was really bored so I calculated my visibility. It went from 1/2 mile down to 1/4 mile, down to like ~25 meters.

My entire front bumper was literally covered in about 3 inches of ice, and I was driving on 2 inches of packed down snow and ice, but there was about 5 inches of powder on the rest of the ground.
