Oh yea, forgot about that. I was trying to find something to line that hole with since the edge is sharp, so in the meantime I had a towel wrapped around where the tube and metal were in contact and held it in place with blue painters tape.

That's what I thought, until I realized how much I hate that my wife's 2007 Mazda3 doesn't have a gas cap holder of any kind.... so annoying

I think the only thing worse than not having a gas cap holder is having the cap attached to a plastic “cord” that forces you to let the cap hang on the side of the car after unscrewing it.

You should pick up an EX gas lid then.

@Chris/Kevin, that makes absolute sense, have the gas covered cap, rub against the car's clearcoat while you fill up, rather than have a place for it to sit out of the way while you fill up.
