I found 8 gauge for like $7 for 6 feet :/

Anyways, with a quick google search I learned there's a big car audio store in Frederick. So I'll go there tomorrow probably.

Over here I have 3 audio place I go to.

They bargain with you. Like say you want to buy fuse holders or dis blocks, they will give you free fuses. They gave me like 12 feet of 8awg wire because I bought their amp wire kit and I only asked for 6 lol.

Hopefully I'll be able to do that at this place tomorrow. They're in an area where stuff is not chain and still family owned as far as I can tell.

I would certainly hope you could do it yourself haha

Was the kit actually based off of wattage? Cause usually they would be based off of gauge and amps. And I guess what they contain.

Well from my experience, buying your own stuff instead of a kit, is way more inexpensive. When I had my 1200 watt amp, the guy at RadioShack told me 4 gauge was too small, but that's what I used for almost a year and never had a problem with it. (& my ground wire was 8 gauge)

But in my past: 200 watt amp I had 12 gauge, 750 watt I used 8 gauge, and my 1200 I used 4.
