badger i think the only problem with that is u need some good *** welds because when you rip on that motor the motor moves. wat the flex pipe does is expand and contract so it doesnt pull the exhaust and rip the welds apart.
now that is wat i heard about why you u use a flex pipe.
please correct me if im wrong

Do the aftermarket headers have the bracket that bolts to the front and back of the block like the stock manifold? That is what would keep the welds from getting any kind of movement.

The flex pipe helps when the motor rocks in the engine mounts or you hit the exhaust. It basically just isolates the cat-back exhaust from the engine movements.

Nick, do you have anything to add to my post on the plugs? I'm curious and want to get back on topic. :lawl:

For the sake of headers, the differing expansion rates of different metals and actual engineering of a header will increase the "scavenging" effect and make the engine more efficient as an air pump.

For the sake of daily driven Accords, I don't think it makes a difference. Yes, some cheaper headers hold their own for a LONG time. At the same time, we've all heard the horror stories of cheap headers breaking welds. Across the entire automotive industry and aftermarket, you get to a certain point where you're only paying for materials, labor, and packaging. This is why those cheap headers suck. You aren't paying for an experienced journeyman TIG welder to weld this stuff, you aren't paying for research and development, etc. Quality stainless steel is expensive, fully penetrated welds aren't easy and are very time consuming. How many times do we have to say it on here. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

There is a reason that some headers cost $1400 and some cost $30. Its certainly not just 4 pipes welded together.

You guys buy whatever the fvck you want. Buy the cheapest sh!t you can find on ebay. If worked in the racing industry for a few years now, I know what works, what doesn't, what breaks, what makes power and I certainly know know what NOT to buy.

That being said, Use NGK or Denso plugs, and dont ever buy an Bosch Universal O2 sensor.

I have megan header, I don't think the quality is GREAT, but its pretty good for the price. If I really wanted to make performance header, I would just build my own.

I'm also certain that any header you buy for the accord will probably provide better results than the crappy OEM. BUT, the OEM is far supirior in build quality.

You don't have to be in the racing industry to know what works and not, but it does help. I've been around a few 30+ year datsun race car drivers, all they do is custom. I guess when it comes down to it, if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself.

OP, sorry it has become off topic, but if you want your car a reliable daily driver. Stay away from modifications and go with OEM brands

Gonna fuel the fire and ask, what's wrong with Bosch o2 sensors, as they seem to be the popular option in terms or replacement and they come stock with many wideband controllers. I know you said universal o2 sensors, but do you also feel the same way about Bosch wideband o2 sensors?

Sorry about offtopic OP, I'ma let you finish, but in addition I think that there may be a useful discussion brewing here.
Don't worrry about it. I am learning quite a lot from this.
not sure why, but i guess my experience differs from your and Nikita's experience....when i worked at Strauss and Autozone, the majority of people who bought Bosch Platinum's ended up coming back and cursing me out.

Even though they asked for them, they claimed i sold them bad plugs, but after getting the right plugs, they'd come back and tell me it was the spark plugs. Happened more than a few times.....just kinda curious why?
Really now??? Hmmm
