    the dreaded transmission problems

Yeah 2000 Accord V-6 with 157,000 miles here. Mine has a delay shifting into D4 when the engine is cold. Only happens in the morning or if the car has sat for 8+ hrs, otherwise no problem getting into gear when engine is warm. I have to wait till the engine temp gets to or past the lowest hash...

Thanks for the info; couldn't check as Ebay is blocked at work.

Dome light console 2000 EX, V-6

I need one of these except new part from Honda is around $265, so gotta scour the junkyards. Are all the dome light consoles the same between the EX and LX, V-6 and 4-cyl? I believe there is only two colors, tan or gray that ever came in the cars?

Whats your MPG on a full tank?

Really comparing apples to oranges because it depends on: 1. What engine, V-6 or 4-cyl 2. What %city/highway I have a 2000 Accord EX with V-6. With 50/50 city/highway I get around 21-22 mpg, but I drive pretty slow to save gas and the tranny (original one at 155,000 miles). Bought this...

    Transmission starting to go...slipping...

I am taking apart my BX7A now. Problem is, I can see a lot of places where the 'pros' will take shortcuts. The rebuild kit I bought cost $280 alone, but it's the 'whole kitchen sink' kit with Raybestos clutches. It still didn't come with the gasket/screen for one of the solenoids, and I had to...

    Transmission starting to go...slipping...

When it comes to these 1998-2002 Honda trannies, I can see light at the end of the tunnel. I have a V-6 tranny I am trying to rebuild now. I can see why these trannies have problems. The internal filter is felt material, and Honda relied on fine mesh screens all over the place to catch large...

How many bulbs to replace in 2000 Accord headlamp?

I got a replacement lamp but it seems there are holes for four bulbs to replace: low beam, high beam, turn signal, and one small bulb at the bottom area of the lamp? What bulb is this?

JDM headlamps not a good idea?

Thanks for the link; was looking for a source of OEM parts without ripoff prices like the dealer.

    Noise from road debris?

+1 I bought a 2000 EX Accord with 153,000 miles for $3300 because I didn't want to use my 420 HP 2013 Mustang GT as a daily driver, due to the stick shift and lousy gas mileage. The Honda drives like a dream and has better fit and finish. I can't tell you how hard you have to slam the hood...

JDM headlamps not a good idea?

I was worried about JDM headlamps being aimed differently than the U.S., but if the U.S. cars never existed in Japan, the term 'JDM' must just be a marketing ploy. How much do the OEM Honda headlamps cost? I'm guessing $500/pair?

JDM headlamps not a good idea?

I have a 2000 Accord EX. I heard JDM parts are not a good idea for headlamps, since we drive on the different side of the road here. True? Where's a place to get good replacement headlamps?

tranny fluid flow, 2000 Accord V-6

Somebody said that on a used car, the filter should be installed after the stock cooler in the radiator, in case there is junk inside there. In my case, that means I will have to remove the battery tray. I believe the majority of Magnefine failures are due to cheap Chinese knock offs. It's...

tranny fluid flow, 2000 Accord V-6

I plan to install a Magnefine filter. Looking down at the trans from under the hood, there are two horizontal, parallel lines coming out the tranny. The bottom line goes into the radiator and I presume is the exit line from the tranny, correct? In other words, fluid flow is counterclockwise...

2000 Honda Accord EX V-6 come with 15" or 16" wheels

Thanks for the info. Looks like the EX coupes had 16" wheels and the sedan, 15" wheels. Why? Who knows. Also this car is heavier than I thought. I thought just under 3000 lbs but looks more like 3200.

2000 Honda Accord EX V-6 come with 15" or 16" wheels

Did some of these 2000 EX Accords come with 16" wheels? Because while searching for tires, some sites say the car uses 16" wheels (like Amazon). But my car has 15" wheels. Did Honda offer two different sizes for this car?

Jacking up 2000 Accord via factory pinch weld

Well, the reason I bought this 2000 Honda Accord EX for $3300 is that I didn't want to use my brand spanking new 420 hp 2013 Ford Mustang GT as a daily driver. Besides, the stick would be a pain to drive where I live. The Mustang has recommended pinch weld points identical to the Honda ones...

Will this quick-drain plug fit a 2000 Accord auto trans pan?

Some follow the school of thought that if your Honda has 150,000+ miles with the original transmission, let sleeping dogs lie and don't change the fluid at all. Run it till it dies. The idea is that new fluid will dissolve and loosen up sludge and particles that will cause the tranny to slip and...

Will this quick-drain plug fit a 2000 Accord auto trans pan?

The reason why I am interested in that plug is I am going to try that 'change one quart at a time' philosophy. I bought my 2000 Accord used with 153,000 miles. I do not know the past history. A VIN check indicates the Honda recall was not fullfilled on this car so the owner didn't take it in...

Will this quick-drain plug fit a 2000 Accord auto trans pan?

Will this plug also fit the transmission pan of a 2000 Honda Accord EX with V-6 engine: http://www.amazon.com/Fumoto-F-106-Engine-Drain-Valve/dp/B003OXUPOQ/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1386799257&sr=8-7&keywords=oil+drain+plug Bought this car used, not sure if the thread on the transmission pan...

Jacking up 2000 Accord via factory pinch weld

Thanks for the info, guys. I did try to lift directly off the edge of the pinch weld flange using the OEM jack and it doesn't get all bent out of shape like on American cars. So I guess I can use a floor jack on it without an adapter.

Jacking up 2000 Accord via factory pinch weld

I'm wondering whether the OEM jack I have is the right one for a 2000 Honda Accord EX. The jack pad on this scissors jack does not have a deep notch to straddle the pinch weld, but a very shallow V depression. You have no choice but to apply force along the bottom edge of the pinch weld panel.

Jacking up 2000 Accord via factory pinch weld

Bought this car used and tried to use the OEM tire jack yesterday. Are you supposed to jack the car up off the edge of the pinch weld, which is maybe 1/4" thick??? Normally the jack pad straddles the pinch weld panel sticking down from the car, and the pads contact the base of the pinch weld...

tranny oil and or change it?>

On another forum I was told that it's OK to change the fluid, but don't do a flush, e.g., change fluid 3X after driving around each time. Supposedly that loosens up stuff on the clutch packs and may cause slippage. I have 155,000 miles on mine and am in the same situation. Maybe you should...

Weight of BX7A Honda Accord V-6 auto trans?

Unfortunately, you are quite close. I picked up the tranny from the shipping agent yesterday. I did not actually weigh it, but I estimate the BX7A tranny to be around 200 lbs alone, with the torque convertor weighing around 30 lbs. I can lift it maybe 5-6" off the ground to swing it, but dead...
