I had Ecsta's before. It's okay..

But I like the Falken FK452's that I have on right now. Nice aggressive tread, adequate performance and if you're going for the "stanced" look, it is also good for stretching.

I'm just curious. If I get some 17x(8-9), am I still required to use the 205/50-17 even if I get my tires stretched? I know the 17x7 it's not necessary to stretch the wheels.

I am still a noob when it comes to the correct wheel sizes and proper fitment.

205-50-17 tires will fit perfect on rims from 5-5.7" width. Rims with a larger width then that you'll be stretching the tire.

If you're going with ie. 8" width rims and don't want to stretch you can run 225/45 R17 but you might rub(i'm not 100% sure), however im sure rim experts can chime in on this.

PS. for future ref this applies to 4cyl with stock size of 195 65 15

No real need to stretch 17x8, so go with 215 or 225. With 17x9.. if you want a bit of stretch, 215/40 or 215/45 would be good.

For a lowered car id pick a tire that is a bit harder then most. Why? So possibly camber/wear won't cause any effects too soon.

Alright thanks you guys.

Learned so much more things about proper fitments now due to you guys hah.

you don't need to worry about camber wear if you get an alignment after you lower it since most wear comes from toe specs. unless you're running stupid amounts of camber...proper fittment =/= stretched, for the record

Hah. That's a good thing then. I plan to gather all my parts and throw then all on at once so I won't have to go through too much hassle. Alignment is going to be my first priority when I lower the car also.
