Re: Cliffsta's 1999 Sedan EX 4-Cylinder (56K) Debadged 6/24 pg.2

to be fair, the oem emblems are meant to stay on for the life of the car. youve seen the old ford vehicles with only " OR " and "FO D" left, right? they have to be sticky...

you think the debadge was hard...just thank god you didnt have factory pinstripes to remove :madrun: wait a while and try and remove some more gunk. mine disappeared after some washes and being outside :)

Re: Cliffsta's 1999 Sedan EX 4-Cylinder (56K) BLACKHOUSINGS 7/1 Pg. 3

I had the weekend off, so I dove into the blackhousing DIY project. It took me pretty much all weekend. I started around a quarter after one on Saturday, worked on it until 9ish that night, got up and started painting at 10:15 Sunday morning, and I had the front fascia bolted back up around 6:15 this evening.

Thanks, I thought the blackhousings look SO much better with the corners masked off. BUT... the passenger side didn't seal up, I have condensation and fogging... SOO looks like I'll be popping everything back apart, cooking it again, and glooping in ten pounds of some silicone.

Well, I snagged an SRI off Ebay, so here we go.

That junk is LOUD! I love it.

Also took some location pics, too, waiting on sis to upload.

Next up will be Centric rotors and Honda OEM pads, then Eibach Pro-Kit.

Here are the location pics I snagged after a good wash and some tire shine.

Probably my favorite one:

OK... I wanted some pics with other objects, to add contrast and depth... but the only thing around was a dumpster... and of course, it looks like the Honda is about to scrap with the dumpster...

Lookin' good!

Boy do I wish I had read your post before I did my brakes this weekend......I used Brembo blanks and attempted to paint the edges and "hat" just like the Centric rotors come from the factory. I can already tell where my paint job is lacking (changing to stock wheels for winter is going to do a number on the "hat"; when putting the wheels back this weekend and I already noticed issues). If only I had visited 6thgen before I started my brake work Saturday. If I had seen this post in time, I would not have gone through the hassle to attempt to paint the rotors myself and would have ordered a new set of rotors. Who knows...maybe I will come spring anyway...:p
