K so see everyone back here next year. :lawl:

These checks are such a waste of time, money, and resources. I would be very frusterated as well that the part of the fail status has nothing to do with the emissions end of things. And I agree the feds should not be stepping in on this, if someone wants to drive a car that pollutes like all hell, it's their ****ing prerogative. And most cars that people are buying these days are pretty economical with the price of gas and economical standings we live in, not to mention federal regulations (again) that manufacturers have to adhere to. And generally the worse a vehicle pollutes, the more fuel it uses and the less people want to drive it nowadays anyway. There are worse problems to solve than bothering people with this miniscule shit, like education or social security.

And plugging your J30 ECU back in would likely yield more codes given that the motor and harness and numerous other corresponding parts were swapped.

Ohh, okay then I guess I won't have to worry about the original ECU then.

EVERYONE has been having this problem; signing this damn petition lol

I'm hoping for the government to realize how stupid they are and change the procedure by next year. Lols

The number of failed cars increased by 5.5% because of this stupid way lol

Don't mind my rant o_O

No, It sucks since i can't tint my windows legally. I'm not interested in a swap, or a turbo anytime soon, So I can stay compliant. It's bad enough my lights probably aren't even legal.

Very weird. So my buddy (guy who had the rental genesis at the last meet i saw you) has a 2000 bmw 325. Car was failing every single time with the new way. I don't know what shop he took it to, but they were able to do a smog test the old way (smoke test) on his car which did pass the first time. Next time i see him, I'll see if he can get the shop info for you.
