holy crap how did that happen??

Edit- forgot it's got a turbo lol
Yeah, stock engine components with a turbo is definitely part of it, the other is just bad juju from the karma gods.
Yikes, Jake!

Well, if any of your work with the current setup is any indication, I am sure the new project will be even more impressive.

How is the truck running?
Thanks for the kind words Derek. Hopefully I can keep pushing the 6thgen performance envelope!

The truck is good, got the front up to 14" lift and stanced it out a bit. I love driving it, it's pretty fun not to worry about driveways (or anything else for that matter lol).

Here are some updated pics, I cleared the headlights, put on a billet front emblem, and built some one-off center caps for the 22's.

Sorry to see that dude, but it will come back stronger. :)

Is the repaint still in the works?
Yeah, I'm not super bummed about it. I haven't driven the car for quite awhile, too many things went wrong at once. Unfortunately, all the $$ I saved for paint was allocated to a surgery for my dog, so that has taken a back seat. Ultimately, the paint on the car is completely mint (was painted in 2009), so I may just end up keeping the SSM. I'm never happy with what I have, and I'm always wanting something more/different, but I need to learn to be content haha. I just thought burgundy pearl would've been amazing with the bengal silver on the Leons.

Your car is looking as good as ever!
nice to see this car is still around cant wait for the rebuild details

Thanks my du! Stay tuned, I won't disappoint. There will be many more one-off parts to come!

^^Thanks man! <3 your car, it makes me want to sell this one and build an OEM + daily. Sooooooo perfect!

John, the truck sat perfect when I was 13" up front, but after I installed the spindles I agree it needs another inch out back. Now I just gotta buy another set of lift blocks lol, I'm on the third set!

The fabrication skills are always nice to see, Jake.

Truck looks awesome, agree that the rear needs lifting a tad, although for serious off-road purposes, having the front a little higher is functional.

Will you be doing general medicine work or specializing?

Amazing truck Jake! How does it pass inspection with the wheels sticking out like that without any flares? Is that an issue in Oregon? I know they are really picky about that here in Maine.

Yeah my car is my poison too, NEVER letting it go.. The way it's going, it will be an direct analogue of yours, except 4 doors and 4 cylinders :lawl:

I have an interview TODAY for a new position, so I think things will start moving much quicker now!

Don't let the stance fool you, this truck is a street sweeper :) Many people get mad to hear that, but it's true - if I were building something for legit bashing/wheeling, it wouldn't be a late model, expensive Silverado.

I'm going into orthopedic surgery, i.e. fabricators/mechanics of the body :)

Oregon doesn't have formal "inspection," but they definitely take the tires seriously. I have had 7 fix-it tickets for the wheel/tire combo in the last year. Luckily, I have a set of stock 18's that I just bolt up, run it down to the PD to have the ticket signed off, and it doesn't cost me a penny. It's an annoyance though.

I've been back-and-forth in selling this car, even had a few commitments, but I backed out. I've got waaaaaaay too much of my personal time/fab into the car to sell it for "market value." I'll probably keep it forever and it'll keep getting crazier haha. I love it!

How'd the interview go? You're an RN, right? Good luck!

Nice, I know the potential these trucks have. I have read up on some of the aftermarket goodies and have been watching 'TRUCKS!', crazy, the amount of power they can produce with some bolt-ons, even.

Nice, and makes perfect sense, for you. That should be a VERY rewarding career.
