Body shop does estimate and starts repair
Body shop sanded peeling clearcoat area next to repair not on estimate
Insurance refuses to pay for addtl work
Body shop steals system
Body shop buys system
You have to pay to get your car back

Yeah i guess that is pretty much it and they are a chain... It's called Gerber collision and glass

Make sure you file a claim with the BBB as well. I don't know if you have a local insurance office like I do or just a big chain but I'd also follow up with them. I'm sure a lot of the shops work is insurance work. Best of luck to you. I hope your car looks straight at least after all this and that you never gotta go thru it again.

Yeah, they will get bad reviews anywhere i can, I'll call the BBB, I'll do anything i can to keep people i know from going there. I hope it looks normal again and i can be done.thank you

Just an update, they put my car back together and painted it but they ordered an aftermarket bumper and it didn't fit my car so they just ordered an oem bumper today and are having it over nighted, then they'll have to repaint it and all that jazz.

Given all that has happened and what the manager told you personally, they should have ordered an OEM bumper the first time.

Most body shops don't use oem parts, where the hell did they order theirs from? Hopefully they don't leave you with a bunch of orange peel or fish eye. Inspect carefully before driving away!
