i have 235/45 17 on mine, i rub slightly on fenders with 0 camber.
i clear the quaters fine

when i was -2 camber i didnt rub

get 225 to be safe (its mainly going to depend on your suspension and how low you are. Stock height 235 is fine, 1.5" or lower i recommend 225

HAHA

Funny shiet Vinh. thanks for answering for me bro.

Yeah dude, I got 225's and thats actually the PROPER size for our accords, it matches up with the speedo the closest. And if you were concerned about rubbing the LAST thing you'd want to do is put on spacers and push the wheel.

The TL wheels fit damn flush to the outside of the wheel well already. But if you just shave the rear bumper tab, you won't have any problems with rubbing.

width has nothing to do with speedometer, overall profile of the tire is what messes the speedo, Diameter/profile

if you stand 235/45 or 225/45 TL next to the OEM 16" alloy wheel with the recommended OEM tire size

they are exactly the same. you raise or lower profile then your effecting speedo

PS: they look better on my car :)

The diameter of a 235/45 tire is bigger than the diameter of a 225/45 tire. so it does make a difference. the 45 profile is the percentage of the width of the tire.

PS: god ur so humble....

no

P235 is how "WIDE" the tire is
45 is how "tall" the tire is

changing how tall the tire is changes its circumferance(<-spellcheck that)
which changes ratio of the speedo... changing how WIDE it is doesnt do anything but give you better traction

like i can put a 17" rim thats 10 inches wide with a 335/45 tire its still the same size circumference

^^^He's right Kevin you noob. 225 = Width, 45 = Side Wall Measurement

Which is why you should go with a 225 v. a 235. It's not as wide, hence less chance of rubbing. But I wouldn't worry about it truongthe, you're 4x4.

I run 225's and I rub slightly in the rear even at -2.6.

width does make a difference as well. nothing crazy, but it does.

def get a 225 for the clearance tho. and for future reference, if you got a spacer, the wheel would stick out more, and there is no way to run adapters on our cars. if you have a wheel that sticks out too much, theres pretty much nothing you can do to make it sit in more.

:eh: ummm..... check again you NOOBS.....

Profile of a tire has always been a relative dimension of the tire....

do me a favor: go here.. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

and put in 225/45/17 for one and 235/45/17 for the other.... and see for yourself.

:ownedrun:

edit: Andy beat me too it. ;) but you get the idea...

NOPE....WRONG

The "45" in this case means that the height is 45% of the width. It is the "aspect ratio"

Tirerack.com said:
Sidewall Aspect Ratio

Typically following the three digits identifying the tire's Section Width in millimeters is a two-digit number that identifies the tire's profile or aspect ratio.

P225/50R16 91S

The 50 indicates that this tire size's sidewall height (from rim to tread) is 50% of its section width. The measurement is the tire's section height, and also referred to as the tire's series, profile or aspect ratio. The higher the number, the taller the sidewall; the lower the number, the lower the sidewall. We know that this tire size's section width is 225mm and that its section height is 50% of 225mm. By converting the 225mm to inches (225 / 25.4 = 8.86") and multiplying it by 50% (.50) we confirm that this tire size results in a tire section height of 4.43". If this tire were a P225/70R16 size, our calculation would confirm that the size would result in a section height of 6.20", approximately a 1.8-inch taller sidewall.

Please do not give out incorrect info in the future please.
