Re: Piecing the 5spd Swap together.... ( few pics )

yo AFAaccord.. thanks for the info

-the tranny goes in to all of the gears quite easily.
-according to the V.I.N, the tranny is from a 92-96 f22a1 prelude S

Alright, so the trans code is probably M2L5.

- so i am guessing that since this is a 92-96.. ur Ecu wont work on it right ?

ECUs and manual transmissions are completely unrelated. The concern is the year of your Accord to determine whether my ECU will work.

- also.. where the VSS is.. the connector on top is broken off
so basically i need a new VSS

That would be true. That's why I didn't see it. lol

i am gonno get this VSS for like $45 shipped.

That should be fine. Almost all the F-series trannys have the same 4.062 final drive, and nearly identical housings, so really any F22/F23 VSS would work. The F23 VSS doesn't have the fluid ports, so if you could find one of those for cheaper, I'd go that route. Either way, it appears the ports on that one are already blocked, so it's a moot issue.

the fluid ports are only really used on the cars equipped with 4WS. i have mine looped and you can do the same.

i reccomend getting a vss tht matches your tranny. while you can run any similar vss, the gearing on the shaft is unque for each tranny. the only real issue you will have is tht the speedo will be off if you use a non f22 vss

if you have anymore questions, hit me up. i love tranny swaps. seriously i do

so washed it up.. and opened it up ..
inside looks like a tranny that has been used.

no gears were destroyed or teeth missing.

- planning to change axle seals on both side, along with main shaft seal...

as far as checking scynchros.. i may press off the gears or something.

I would imagine it might be difficult to route the prelude line. Just guessing because of all the bends the lines have to conform to the firewall.

I'm going to check the 'NO' box on that. The illustration shows a flexible tube section on the accord line and that element does not exist on the prelude line. That line helps a ton with routing and positioning.
