my 2nd gear is all sorts of ****ed up (im thinking the solenoids)...but my plan is...

sell the car in spring, hoping the transmission lasts through the winter. then buy a tl-s/cl-s/tsx and be rid of the 148k trans in the car now.

synopsis: buy what you want in the spring, unless the trans is going out right now.

yea justin, in my 98, 2nd to 3rd shifts were horrible. i couldnt redline 2nd cuz otherwise the car wouldnt shift and it was all sorts of nonsense going on. the trannys def on its way out. 2nd gear is the gear that goes ****ty in these trannys.

5 speed swap!!! your cars begging for it!

once it starts, it goes out fast. I seriously doubt it will last through the winter, if u are a full time driver. I got mine to last another 5k miles when i poured 3 qrts of lucas tranny fluid in it.

It has relevance in a sense that you would be pretty bummed out to find out later on down the road ur compression isnt up to par after u just changed the transmission. If you knew prior to swapping it out, you might have gone a different route with the car. In example; selling the car, taking the engine and tranny out together so u can do both at the same time. Kill two birds with one stone. Thats all im trying to say.. :eusa_wall:

Yea...just...no...

i would get a 5 spd tranny (F22, H23, F23) for cheap and have a 6ga member help u out with the install to save some $$$. It's just not worth it to part out and sell the car for such a low price especially since it's already paid off..... gl mang

Since you seem to be dead set against going manual....I say sell it and use the dough and the 3g you would have used to get the auto replaced and use that as a down payment on something you want.....it's kind of a no brainer.....

I going to still say 5spd as it really seems to be the most worthwhile option.

Then, rebuild an AT or get a used, non rebuilt one as cheap as you can and hope it is fine until you sell your car.

If you feel your car is worth $4500 w/ a good tranny, and want to get rid of it, you may just want to try to dump it now. The thing is, you may get more if you don't part out. My little bro got almost $2000 for his 95 with axle issues he could not figure out, some body damage, but nicely modded. He didn't even put effort in, just put it on ebay. I'd try to figure out what you could realistically get for your parts, unless you are trying to buy another accord.

Yeah I agree with Chido. I would do that too and just finally get rid of the 6GA and get a car you really want.
