only reason I would do it is for the exercise.

but then I'm pretty positive it would make driving a pita in any kind of traffic whatsoever

I don't know about accords, but i'm going to assume of other cars i have driven. It's really only a pain when you are under about 5 mph. Pretty much parking lots. But it will give you better feel at low speeds, depedning on the car, highspeed may feel exactly the same, or alot better, depending on the car. Some cars have "too much power" with their powering steering and you loose feel at all speeds. Alot of cars, it becomes pretty negligable at high speeds.

Anyway, the only advantage to me of now power steering actually would be for steering feel. But i've noticed a true manual rack is much better than a looped ps rack. I would doubt their is a manual rack that is easily swapable for our cars with no mods, could be wrong.

see the whole "feel the road" aspect would be more appealing if I felt I had a problem with that.

but, i've been driving my car for a while, and I feel like i'm pretty in-tune with it as it is. I go on drive with my friends through the mountain roads in this area and i can always tell how close I am to the front diving under or the tires wanting to break out on me, I don't really see how there'd be any advantage to removing the p/s.

the mountain roads remind me why I love my brake setup, because I've had times where my pads were literally smoking before but the brake fade was still minimal and didn't interfere with my ability to drive at all.

After much trial and testing, I have come to the conclusion that removing the power steering DOES reduce parasitic drag on the engine, freeing up some power. How much power? I have yet to find out, but for now I will follow the middle of the road, and use the AEM underdrive pulley that I had, just laying around. Maybe at the drag strip, I'll remove the belt, being that it's such a simple procedure.

I've got a couple bugs to work out, but within the month, I plan to have the car on the dyno for some tuning, and I will post a before and after dyno simply with the belt installed, and then removed.

EDIT: If someone is curious enough to help out with the cost of two runs ($60) then I could perform the dyno sooner.

I agree with this now. Around turns at slow speeds, it drags on the engine, but in a straight line, there's literally no loss.

It's all about the weight of the car and steering ratio, and I bet your tacoma still doesn't weigh as much as a 6th gen.
