Helmet for autocross

I think it is about time I bring this subject up. My question is this. DOES ANYONE KNOWS WHAT is the HELMET SPEC that is require for autocross?
Can I just pick up a motocycle helmet? or do i need one with FIre resistant?

Please any answer from the pro would be nice. And yes, I am searching for it at the same time. I post here so that everyone else can learn from this too.

I use a Bell. Doesn't need to be fire resistant. Must carry a Snell rating though and atleast at the one I go to, they do inspect the helmet during tech.

so what is the snell rating minimum? or does it depend on the track?

The best thing to do is go to the SCCA's SOLO website and go by their requirements. Most Auto X clubs follow their guidelines.

I called SCCA and ask them about the helmet. They told me that they accept either Snell SA2000 or SA2005. Either one of these helmet has build in fire resistant already, so you don't have t worry about that. The problem now is to find a good deal.
