So can a 98 sedan lx get a grill type-r without that many removing or adding or will it require removing the bumper and all that?
only 98-00 coupe bumper grilles are removeable.....

Well my 98 lx sedan doesnt have a grill at all because it got hit and you can see throught it . So would i be able to put a grill on it like the type-r or its only for coupes?

u can do anythin if u modify it and take time....heck the guys with the 01-02 bumpers have shaved down their grilles and placed type r or mugen grilles in em....i dont see y not...jus takes some time and serious research....i for one would like to see the result of that....ive always wondered y they never made all the parts for coupe/sedans.

The only thing is I don't know if you want it made out of plastic, although it's not like a lip where you could knock it off driving over a curb or something. You'd have to get into an accident before that thing would break.
I don't know how the particular one in the link installs, so I can't tell you whether or not you will have to take off your bumper. If you do, it's one of the easiest parts of your car to get on and off. Don't be afraid of it, it's just six 10mm bolts and a bunch of plastic tabs. Besides, taking your bumper off gives you much more room to operate.

Like I said, bumpers are a piece of cake to get on and off. Read up on these forums or better yet, get the Haynes Manual. It's got diagrams, pictures, and step-by-step teardowns of every part of our car.
You should be able to install that grill in less than 2 hours.

Search the forum, maybe there is. Here's as much as I'll help you:
Taking off the bumper.
1) Jack the car up, prop the front on jackstands.
2) Get underneath the front of car and look at the front of the underside of the bumper. You will see plastic tabs holding the engine splash guard to the bumper. Loosen these by popping the middle section a bit (not all the way) with a flat-head screwdriver.
3) You may have noticed two 10mm bolts at each corner of the underside of the bumper. Remove them.
4) Get out from underneath and look inside the wheel well's upper-front seam, where the bumper meets the fender. You'll see another 10mm bolt, it's the same on the other side. Remove them.
5) Pop the hood. Look near the middle section of where the bumper is attached to the chassis. I'm speaking of the area between your headlights.
No, not the ones holding down your headlights! There are two more 10mm bolts. Hold your knees against the bumper as you remove them so that it doesn't just drop as soon as you undo the last one.6) Pull the sides of the bumper away from the car if they haven't already popped out of place. Hold on firmly and pull the front of the bumper away from the car in a somewhat upward motion. It should just slide right off, if you feel a snag, make sure everything's loose.
7) Assembly is the reverse.
When you install your grille, you might have to do some drilling. I did for the Grillecrafts on my car. You'll find a drill goes through your bumper plastic really fast. Always punch a small starter hole so that your drill doesn't dance around all over your paint.
