I've got a v6 with 197k and the original Tranny and it still runs strong.

Knock on wood :D
:smash:

I'm hoping for mine to be the same as well. I'm going to start tranny fluid changes every 6k or so even though it's still running smooth. I just started spray waxing it today to ensure that the paint stays in good condition :).

when a tranny is cold it doesnt shift smoothly so anybody expecting a smooth 1st to 2nd shift while the car/tranny is cold its not gonna happen, that is a general rule for any used car. now if the tranny is SLIPPING and its a struggle to get in the next gear after its warm then thats a whole nother story. when my tranny is cold its a little harsh and revs a bit to switch to the next gear but this is about the first 5 minutes of driving... after that the tranny shifts smoothly with no problems how it should.

when you guys turn the key to on, not cranking it yet. does your D4 light come on along with the P light?

Lucas transmission oil will help. I was able to get about another 5k off mine easing of the gas in between shifts and using this stuff.

I don't expect it to shift as smooth as silk two seconds after I turn the ignition over. I do not however expect it to do this. I live in Florida so it is never cold here unless it is like the end of January early February. The air temp was probably like 75 degrees or so.

about 1 minute after startup, getting on the road speed limit:50, distance to accel ~0.6 miles Oh and BTW that loud bang that you hear as the wheel is straightening is the first - second transition. Yes it is violent it will throw me back in my seat a good bit.

About a minute and half later I pulled off the road and then merged back in when the traffic cleared out. the same specs apply here.

Then this is about 6 minutes after first startup as I was approaching the interstate. limit: 35 MPH distance driven is approx. 3-4 miles

I also did try the lucas oil to no avail I changed in fresh fluid and added the lucas oil at the same time, and it did the same thing the next morning about ten hours after it was changed the night before.

Time for a new tranny, I dont really want to fix it though. what to do?

My D4 led died a loooonnggg time ago. Its like my gauge cluster had a seizure and half of it doesn't want to work anymore. My temp gauge doesn't work, my seat belt light doesn't work, the low fuel, d4 I am surprised and pleased that the fuel gauge still works though I don't trust it. (I reset the trip every time I fill up)
