Welcome! 17k miles??? Wow thats the least I have seen here on this site. Im at 156k and still runs excellent. I agree with Nikita on this one about boosting the F23. Check out some builds people have and then you might change your mind about the H23. In for some pics too!

how much you dropping for the swap??

The prices the shop gave me are: complete swap (engine, components, and tranny) is about 2700. So 3k.Engine has 25 to 35k miles on it, and about 4 to 5k for install. So Im figuring 7 to 8k. I got a guy helping me out though so hopefully no more than 7500. Gona tell them to put a new header and high flow cat on too. Also need a exhaust leak welded. But I'm gona shop around now. So far a lot of you guys are telling me H23 is no good lol. So I dont know what Im doing. I priced a K swap and that came to like 12k, lol, so thats out. This sucks though, I did research and H23 sounded good. Guys at the shop said that's what they normally see dropped in to these cars.

welcome bro!

And its not that the h23 is no good, there's just other options that most will consider better.

If ur not planning on boosting, H22 will net u more power just from throwin it in. The motor you currently have is already good starting grounds for boost.

H23 is better to boost than h22 tho if ur set on DOHC. Just do ur research and make the decision thats right for you. There's a LOT of info on this site, almost everything's been tried at least once. Good luck :peace:

Thanks guys. I still dont have all the cash yet so I have some time to think about it. Im deffinantly set on boosting. So its either stay F or go with the H23. I'm also looking to get a lot of power, and so far in my research I'v seen that the F seems to not be as strong as the H. My realistic as possible goal is 400 horses. So i'm just looking for the best quality for my buck way to do that.

to just turbo the F but I read up on that and after turbo they normal just blow up.

That's not true - whoever gave you that information most likely cheaped out on their build and failed at doing it correctly.

How do you feel about the spoiler?..

If your goal is 400 horses, there's no 'best bang for your buck' option, regardless of whether you're using a F-series, H-series, etc.. You will need some serious money. I don't think anyone has made that here with a 4-cyl yet. It's not just as easy as plug and play to crank out HP in these motors, bolt-ons don't do crap, and you need a serious built engine to make that whp output, even with a turbo. If you want a reliable turbo F23, boost 6-7 psi (CORRECTLY!!!) and have yourself a reliable DD on a stock engine, around 200-250whp, depending on your setup and tune. If you want 400hp, be ready to build a full racing engine, including all internal components and block reinforcement. F&H 23's aren't powerhouses yo!

What's normally (most often) swapped into these cars is the H22A from the Prelude. I thought you were going to be doing the swap and labor yourself, but building the engine beforehand. If you are having it done for you and you want 400whp, then the 12k for a K-swap sounds cheap compared to what it would cost for everything to be done for you and achieve your result using the other methods..(components, full engine build, professional installation, tune, etc..)

Yeh, I see what you are getting at. I definantly want more than 250 hp. I dont know what to do now lol. Hopefully I'll get to some meets and talk to some of you guys. As for my spoiler, I love it. Was exactly what I was looking for. Nothing obnoxious or cheesy. Sits real nice with the car and accents it well. Will look even better after I finish the exterior

That's the only exception where the H23 is worth it.. but it is practically impossible to source. Some people combine F23 block with H23 VTEC head as well.. search around for more info on that if you find it interesting. Roy (DarksideAccord) has that G23 build done, but without VTEC. Not sure if anyone has successfully done the G23VTEC, I only know of G23 non-VTEC to have actually been done, running, and reliable.

Yeh, that's the exact one I am looking at. But now I just weighing out getting that or boosting the F. I have enough money to swap to manual tranny and boost the F right now.... so its tempting lol.
