Re: 6 gears > 4 [6spd + 3.2 swap]

Yeah, Rich just cut spacers for the sub-frame instead of cutting the mounts.

Chris, it was definitely fun. Like I said, I wish I knew more and could've been a bigger help. I felt like I did a lot of "hand-in-my-pockets" standing around. You did, too. :p But it was fun and definitely another learning experience. Seeing Rich work was awesome. Especially with that harness. I wish I could've stayed to see it all the way through though. :(

Sounds like you guys have about 4 hours of work but that leaves almost zero troubleshooting time. Hopefully you wont need any. Take video, if you can. Rich seemed fairly confident it'd fire up on the first try. I wanna see if he was right, lol. Good luck and keep the updates coming.

Well, the 4 o'clock deadline came and went. Not sure if that's good or means snags. Hopefully all is good.

Re: 6 gears > 4 [6spd + 3.2 swap]

Car is done.

The bad: still trying to get cruise control to work. Also I hate the motor mounts. Should have gone with J32 OEM. There is a somehwat decent amount of vibration when going into 1st, but none going through the rest of the gears. So it's not bad, but I'd rather not have it. Glad i didnt go with stiffer ones. Lol. So I can live with it for now, but if I'm not use to it come next year, I will be coming back to swap them since there is some custom work for em.

The good: Car is a beast and is so much more fun to drive. That is an understatement. Lol. Everything save for the aforementioned seems to be functioning just fine. No CELs, thank God.

I will be heading back home tomorrow when it is daylight. A big thanks to Rich and Ling for their unwavering dedication and hospitality. Also thanks to Mikey, you were a huge help in moving things along. For me, this was the way to go through with this swap, hands down. There is so much custom work that has to be done, and a few issies that there are a few ways to go about...so for all that could have happened, I am so so grateful and fully happy with the result.

Also thanks to 6GA for your support, and following the progress, it means a lot to me. Seriously. ;) :)

Can you describe the vibration? Is it so bad that it makes your hands tingle when holding the wheel?

I was thinking about getting the next step up in stiffness but now I'm not so sure. However I have read that the vibration in the Innovative mounts lessens over time after they "break in."

My car vibrates like mad when the a/c is on, other than that its not terrible. Glad to see you got it done and are enjoying it. Did you happen to use the IMRC? Any CELs? ( I have a few I dont know how to get rid of) Maybe thats something Rich can cover in the DIY.

Good deal. Glad it all came together. Definitely in for pics. Are you gonna work on the CC and replacing the mounts or are you cool with them as-is?

And I might not have been as much help as I wanted but I had my hand in a few parts.

Congratulations! On the swap and all that. It is definitely like a brand new car. Take some pictures and a video when you get a chance! I am excited about seeing it at IA... and riding in it? -_- :deal:
