Hi,
First post here and of course, I have noob questions. I looked at a lot of forums, and this one seems to have the highest "signal-to-noise" ratio, if you know what I mean.
My roommate is swapping a 1997 H22A JDM Prelude engine and transmission into his 99 Accord with a dead F23A1. Wiring for this little project has fallen on me, as I have a electrical engineering background and a fairly experienced gearhead. (Just not with the Honda Cars... I prefer DOHC Cobras...)
Sooo, here lies the problem.
I have searched until my Google bled. I cannot find some critical things I need to know. I have to do this swap and maintain emission compliance via OBDII scanner here in Portland. I have in my possession a P5M ECU. I realize the immobilizer is an issue, but I believe I have already solved that one.
I have found swaps galore that use flashed OBDI ECUs, so those are not much help.
Does anybody have any idea on what the wiring entails? From what I can gather, I need to add a knock sensor to the OEM Accord harness and move some connectors from the crank snout area to the distributor area. I read in the H22A FAQ at the top of the page something about injector resistors, but it seems like maybe that is necessary only for OBDI engines?
Am I close?
Thank you so much in advance for answering my questions. And when this is done, I will happily post an addendum to the FAQ for an OBD2, 49-state swap.
