17 is too tight for a motor thats not running crazy boost, will compromise some idle quality and part throttle... However seeing as it helped you may have a weak ignition control module, or coil inside the dizzy.

ya idle's a little choppier then before. Tuner's thinking the map might just need to be tweaked a little since its considerably hotter and more humid then it was when we tuned it. I'm gonna hopefully run by the shop this weekend and have him look it over. definitely will bring up the ICM or coil issue since I'm still using the same dizzy that came with the car cause my new motor didn't have one. so even though the cap and rotor are brand new the dizzy has like 270k miles on it or something like that.

I've got a few dyno vids from when we tuned the car. I'll see if I can dig one up for you. When's the deadline again? I need to go do a shoot.

Turbo is not unreliable, if you do it properly... hell I drove 600+ miles this weekend to nashville and back, and screwing around and my car didnt skip a beat

no its reliable. as long as you got quality parts. my **** still runs fine other then the fact that I can't rev it passed 4500rpm. still plenty quick in the low rpm's with my turbo setup though so its still decently fun to drive. I just miss being able to rev out to redline in second. cause second pulls soooooo god damn hard.

going to see my tuner on saturday. hopefully we can figure out what the deal is with this thing.

I don't understand. took the car out last night to my friends house on the exact same drive I took two nights ago, when I made the drive two nights ago I get to the stop sign I have to turn at half way between my house and his,.the car was still breaking up at 4500 rpm. when I took the drive last night I was able to drive all the way to my destination and do WOT pulls all the way to the redline right next to his house. and any other time I felt like it on the drive over. same deal on the drive home, even made a point to run the piss out of it on the way back to make sure it was as hot as it was gonna get by the time I got home. and its still ran perfect. so maybe my tuner's right and we just need to tweak the map a little since its alot hotter and more humid now then it was the weekend of my tune.

ok well we found the problem. just can't figure out why the **** its happening. for some reason in the high rpms injector duty cycle is just dropping to 0%. everything else is perfect. but for some reason the injectors just cut off at like 5k rpm. anyone know why this would happen? only thing we could come up with is that maybe the ecu is just getting soo hot that its causing something in the ecu to **** up. which would make since to why its fine when I first take it out and why it ran fine the other night when it was cooler out. but wtf?

I kno this is going to sound like a dumb question, but by chance did u not install the resistor box's needed for the DSM injectors? I had a friend with that problem because the iirc dsm injectors are peak and hold and operate differently than saturated.
