hell yeah they'll charge you...$90-110. if the trans isnt actually acting weird, why take it in?

So I'm not worried about the lights anymore but I worry about the tranny...I'm under the 100K mark so if they sense something wrong I want them to fix it being that honda extended the warranty to 100K.

If they try to charge me I will beat them with my crutches!!! I asked the guy that I need them to look at it...I'm hoping that they will give it a quick test drive and give me a clean sheet...I'm just concerned because I am about to dump $1000 in 90-105K tune up so I have to make sure this car is worth it...

My old BMW has over 200K on it and it shifts like BUTTER (mind you GM made the tranny for my car) so this whole tranny scares the crap out of me!

I don't know what to do....just sell the car and get something else...or take my chances?!?!?! :eh:

Honda will charge you for a tech taking time to do a ride-along with you. At my dealer it is $50, so as Ryan said if the car is driving fine now, then don't take it in.

Honda WILL charge you to look at it, no question about it. But like Chris & Ryan said, why are you taking it in if you're not noticing anything wrong with it?

what year is the car? honda only extended the warranty on the 01-02s (may have been 00-02s) and for sure, the early cars weren't part of it. then it was 100k but only 8 years. you can find it on the interwebs...they also did the same thing with acuras of the same vintage. i'd rather call them and find out if the car is part of that extended warranty than pay $100 to find out it's fine, or you're not covered anyway.

E36?

most cars have typical failures in one way or another. the rear trailing arm bushing mounts fail on your BMW, that repair will cost more than the honda trans...probably more than the car is worth. i assume you haven't gotten around to doing the headgasket on that car? easily $1000+ to have a shop do it and lots of failures happen around 125-150k.

It is a 2002...to be honest after reading all these tranny threads I just want to sell this car and be done with it...It is nothing but a big anxiety case for me. Even though it has been in the family since 16k (now 93k) and I know it has been taken care of I have a feeling it is going to take a poop on me.

No my car was a E34 (remember 5 series). I seriously beat the living day light out of that car...and it still wanted more. Now with over 200K it has been the most reliable car...only things I have changed were 1 water pump and 2 radiators...SOLID! I'm actually thinking of buying another low mile one.:D
