I want to lower my v6 coupe and not sure what to buy. Is there different springs for v6 than 4s? I want to lower it but not have to deal with having to roll my fenders and worry about rubbing.

The springs for V6 and i4 are different, the shocks are not - for spring/shock combos. If you're set on coilovers, you need not worry about this I don't think, but you'll want to confirm that.

But please search, this has been discussed countless times. Start with the suspension review thread.

Whether you need to roll your fenders, rubbing issues, etc all depend on the wheel specs.

There is a difference between them. The v6 has a stiffer spring rate to handle the heavier engine.

No difference broski

Wrong broski

Basically follow what Chris, RedRyder, said.

If you're using springs...i4 and v6 are NOT interchangeable
Shocks/Dampers are interchangeable as you SHOULD be upgrading them from the oem ones.

If you change and your mind and go for using coil-overs...i4 and v6 are interchangeable

Like previous posts have said, Lowering Springs are different in i4 and V6 models. Struts/chocks are the same.

If you buy coilovers they are interchangeable between i4 and v6.

i just have speed bumps near my street entrance so dont need it all the way to the ground. Are adjustable ones worth the extra $?

Figured v6 weighting more I would need diff coils than an i4.

Is leaving the oem shocks with lowering coils that bad? If so what package or brand of shocks and coils

Finally, will this really make a noticeable difference in handling?

Never pair stock shocks with lowering springs.

Shocks with adjustable height are not that much more expensive than those without, and if you are using springs that give the same drop at front and back, you need the height adjustability. If you are using springs that give a larger drop at front than rear, shocks w/o height adjustability are okay, but it's nice to have the option to tweak your drop a bit.

Handling will change for the better. Koni Yellow shocks, on their softest setting, are about 20% stiffer than stock, so they slightly firm up the ride. But if you dial up the dampening, they can firm up the ride even more. Pair a good suspension setup with a thick rear sway bar, and you have yourself a nicely handling car.

i just read up on a few threads in here. Whats the difference between shocks and struts? struts just have that round stamped plate on them the springs rest in?
