If I ship to you, then I won't haz......

Spoke to another local shop today(Rukus Motorsports), looks like $800-$1000) is the going rate for the swap, provided I bring everything I will need.

That works for me(IF it is a shop doing the work), and Rukus was willing to include the price of the install of the exhaust as well.

Now.....to S/C or not to S/C.....?

I might be wrong but i beleive Millz visits Rukus for his car.

& not to be a devils adovcate...but no matter who does the swap, you got to expect some things going wrong and extra parts being needed even if its not directly for the engine/tranny swap. The shop probably wont be happy to hold the car on the hoist for the owner to source the part cheaper from online or forums and most likely will say "either i order it and put it in or you tow your car out of here". In addition by you bringing all the parts you're running the risk of the shop not taking the blame if something goes wrong and them blaming it on the part "you" brought in...especially if all the parts you bring in are not OEM and Brand New

Millz does bring his car there, I talked to him about it this morning, which is what prompted me to give them a call.

I anticipate there may be something unexpected that comes up, but I also plan to have some of the engine work done prior to bringing it in the them, which will hopefully eliminate any problems they may have.

Basically, I want it to be as much of a simple swap as possible, so that, if all goes well, the shop just has to pull the old and put in the new and I drive away happy.

At least with the car being at the shop, IF parts are needed, they can get them quickly.

Ordered and will be picked up May long weekend.

Hoping to get started on the engine tear down very soon to prep the parts for port matching.

I don’t want to burst your bubble Derek, but it is extremely likely this will not be the case. A motor/tranny swap is complex enough in and of itself, but you are taking things a step further with the other mods you are doing (which to my understanding you are doing at the same time). It will help if the shop has done some J swaps before, but I can promise you there will be unexpected issues. I had a few myself, but I had the luxury of my car being on Rich’s lift for 6 days lol. A normal shop would not allow that I don’t think.

The best thing you can do is to go in as prepared as you can, both in terms of having all the parts and knowing there will more to buy along the way. The good thing is any unexpected purchases will not be too expensive, and as a result should be hard to find on the spot should the need arise. Which would prevent having problems with the shop waiting for you to get them.

Glad to hear progress! :)

Unfortunately, I do imagine there might be some challenges with the swap, and that will get dealt with along the way.

There are shops that have done J-swaps up here...although mostly on Civics.

I'm not overly concerned though.

Appreciate that, if only I had seen this before buying the gasket.

For the price, can't hurt to have an extra gasket though.
